AYDEN'S UPDATES

Ayden's family wanted to keep a blog for family members and friends to be able to have the latest status of his progression at the hospital. On August 1st, the family was out in the yard and soon noticed Ayden was missing and was discovered by Aubrey in the above ground pool. Caryn pulled him out and was able to resuscitate him thru CPR and he had a pulse and was breathing as the medics took him away in the ambulance to the hospital. He is currently at St. Lukes downtown Boise. We will try to update on a daily basis or as something significant happens. We also are so very thankful to everyone for your love, prayers, fasting and all the support you have given to the Rich family and extended family at this time.

The 1st 2 weeks of Aydens Hospital stay.

Through out Ayden's stay we did take some pictures. We wanted to wait until now to add the pictures, because as you can see, they are sad... He went through so much the first week and a half while he was here and it still can be hard for him. He can only whisper because of having the breathing tube for so long but its cute to hear his words, even if they are just a whisper. He continues to improve with the withdrawal symptom's. It gets better for him every hour.
Days 1-3

Days 4-8

Days 9-10

Days 11-12

Days 13-14, after he was extubated, at first not so sure, but we got him to smile eventually as you saw in the last post. Caryn was tickling aunt Laura and he thought it was funny!
(the first picture is on his leg, this is a bruise from when the paramedic had to drill into his leg to get to the bone marrow to give him some medicine. Its a pretty new procedure that is used now and can be faster than using an IV in an emergency, another thing that helped save Ayden's life!
