AYDEN'S UPDATES

Ayden's family wanted to keep a blog for family members and friends to be able to have the latest status of his progression at the hospital. On August 1st, the family was out in the yard and soon noticed Ayden was missing and was discovered by Aubrey in the above ground pool. Caryn pulled him out and was able to resuscitate him thru CPR and he had a pulse and was breathing as the medics took him away in the ambulance to the hospital. He is currently at St. Lukes downtown Boise. We will try to update on a daily basis or as something significant happens. We also are so very thankful to everyone for your love, prayers, fasting and all the support you have given to the Rich family and extended family at this time.

Not too much to report since yesterday. Ayden continues to breath better on his own and it seems that having him on his stomach helps to clear the crud from his lungs. He is good at coughing, although he doesnt make a sound when he coughs because of the breathing tube but he works hard and does a good job. The nurses continue to comment on how he is such a big, strong "little" guy. They know that he would be all over the place so this is why they have to keep him sedated. He is pretty swollen from retaining water but it seems that more recently its starting to get better but the Dr. sd that this is the least of our worries.

Caryn, Chad and the rest of the family continue to feel encouraged by how things are going. We are also doing all we can to keep patient and understanding that this is a process, his little lungs are needing special attention and time to heal. This is the most important thing to remember.

The continued love, support and prayers are helping and again we are all so very thankful for them all.

  2. Dear Family, Your Dad and I can't tell you how comforting the blog, phone calls, and pictures have been this last week. When we saw the picture of Ayden's foot we just wanted to really grab it and give it a big kiss--(or at least his chubby little cheek.) Yesterday we took 200 young adults (14-18) on tours through the Brigham Young Winter home. As we talked to them about the adversity the early Saints endured we shared our family's adversity right now. We asked them to join their faith and prayers with us, for Ayden. They agreed to do this. Several girls expressed hope and concern. One young man, no more than fourteen, came up to me, put his arm around me and gave me a tight squeeze. He was really touched by the request and assured me that he would indeed pray hard for Ayden. I'm so thankful you all have each other to help each other and buoy each other up. The entire family is indeed a blessing to us. Enjoy your Sunday. We will touch base with you tomorrow. We did call a tired little Landon--four years old--to see how his pin-ate-a worked out. That's how he's been saying pinata. Our Love and Gratitude to all, Gramps and Grams Warth
