Ayden's body continues to fight his infection, as it should. With this we sometimes can see spikes in his temperature and heart rate as he is coughing to get rid of the "gunk" and currently his temp and heart rate are close to the normal rates the Dr wants them to be. As these are monitered and maintained this will help to progressively move him onto the next stage of extubation, but the main focus is to be sure he is ready for this next step and have his lungs strong enough to work on their own. To help with this they are putting on a CPT vest which is a therepy vest that will help further clear out the "gunk" in his lungs.
Thanks again for your support everyone. Caryn has been at the hospital since Ayden got here. She is here day and night. She needs sleep and right now is very sleep deprived. Because of this and for Ayden's benefit we are asking to please limit visitors to just family for at least the next few days. Please feel free to contact a family member for updates or continue to refer to this blog. We will always keep it updated with the latest news. You can leave comments here on the blog that she and Chad can read so they know of your concern. She is very, very appreciative and wants to be able to hear from everyone but this wears her out (and of course she will never admit this to anyone). The Docs and Nurses say that she will need to be well rested for when Ayden wakes up completely because he will want to be held most of the time. Thanks so much everyone for understanding this. There is usually someone here with Caryn, Chad is always here in the evenings with her and you are welcome to come to the waiting room outside of Ayden's room. We are aware many people who already know about this blog and please continue to share it with others so that others can be updated on little Ayden's progression.
AYDEN'S UPDATES
Ayden's family wanted to keep a blog for family members and friends to be able to have the latest status of his progression at the hospital. On August 1st, the family was out in the yard and soon noticed Ayden was missing and was discovered by Aubrey in the above ground pool. Caryn pulled him out and was able to resuscitate him thru CPR and he had a pulse and was breathing as the medics took him away in the ambulance to the hospital. He is currently at St. Lukes downtown Boise. We will try to update on a daily basis or as something significant happens. We also are so very thankful to everyone for your love, prayers, fasting and all the support you have given to the Rich family and extended family at this time.
