AYDEN'S UPDATES

Ayden's family wanted to keep a blog for family members and friends to be able to have the latest status of his progression at the hospital. On August 1st, the family was out in the yard and soon noticed Ayden was missing and was discovered by Aubrey in the above ground pool. Caryn pulled him out and was able to resuscitate him thru CPR and he had a pulse and was breathing as the medics took him away in the ambulance to the hospital. He is currently at St. Lukes downtown Boise. We will try to update on a daily basis or as something significant happens. We also are so very thankful to everyone for your love, prayers, fasting and all the support you have given to the Rich family and extended family at this time.

Monday, Aug 3rd (Noonish)

As reported in the last post, at 7 am this morning the Dr's shut down the cooling process and stopped the paralyzing medication. They let his body temperature warm on its own and as the paralyzing medication wore off he woke up and looked around, saw his dad and had the "where am I?" look and also looked very frustrated and confused. He became aggressive and kicked the blanket from underneath his knees (all good signs and normal responses that made everyone happy.) He knew right where he wanted to reach first, and it was for his mouth to where his breathing tube is. We know it must be very uncomfortable for him. The Dr's then gave some more sedation medication but is no longer the paralyzed sedation. Even though the cooling down process was necessary for his healing its so nice to touch his skin and have it warm instead of ice cold.
We are just more than thrilled for his continued progression so thankful for the continued prayers and support from all.

  1. Caryn and Chad,
That is sounding so good. Normal responses. Exactly what we want. We are all blessed by those words. May blessings continue to pour down and envelope you and each of your family members.
We send our love and continual prayers,

  4. Caryn, Chad and family, I want you to know that many prayers have been said here in Fiji on your behalf. When missionaries comes into the office and ask me if there is anything they can do for me (and that happends often) I ask them if they will please remember you and Adyen in their prayers. They all say of course! I am so glad Janet (or someone) sent me the link to this blog. I will be anxious each day to read the updates. I will continue to pray for miracle. The news seems encouraging! With love, Sister Erickson
