AYDEN'S UPDATES

Ayden's family wanted to keep a blog for family members and friends to be able to have the latest status of his progression at the hospital. On August 1st, the family was out in the yard and soon noticed Ayden was missing and was discovered by Aubrey in the above ground pool. Caryn pulled him out and was able to resuscitate him thru CPR and he had a pulse and was breathing as the medics took him away in the ambulance to the hospital. He is currently at St. Lukes downtown Boise. We will try to update on a daily basis or as something significant happens. We also are so very thankful to everyone for your love, prayers, fasting and all the support you have given to the Rich family and extended family at this time.

Ayden before he got the central line removed

Ayden after he got it removed! So much better!

Another good day for Ayden! He was able to have his Central line removed, which was an IV with direct access to his heart, he was very happy about this. For the last few days he had been pointing to it and saying.. "take off, take off" So now Ayden has nothing attached to him! YAY! He continues to take medication through syringes by mouth and is also still on a steroid where he has to breath a mist for a few minutes, this is to help with opening up his airways. He still throws a fit each time he takes meds, or even just when he sees a nurse come into his room with something but it is getting a lot better! Yesterday he had a visit from the Neurologist who says that with drowning victims he usually doesn't come to see them 3 weeks after the incident, but 2 or 3 days. Meaning Ayden is making a full recovery, and there is no question about that! We still don't know when he gets to go home from the hospital, we are thinking the beginning part of next week due to the Dr's wanting to keep a close watch on vitals and also weening off medication.

Yesterday when Ayden's dad got here he welcomed him down by the elevators with his toy shopping cart, then wanted to take dad for a walk around the whole hospital! He was loving the fresh air and the freedom to walk around!

Here are a few fun photos of him today playing in the play room at the hospital! He was having soo much fun!!!
