AYDEN'S UPDATES

Ayden's family wanted to keep a blog for family members and friends to be able to have the latest status of his progression at the hospital. On August 1st, the family was out in the yard and soon noticed Ayden was missing and was discovered by Aubrey in the above ground pool. Caryn pulled him out and was able to resuscitate him thru CPR and he had a pulse and was breathing as the medics took him away in the ambulance to the hospital. He is currently at St. Lukes downtown Boise. We will try to update on a daily basis or as something significant happens. We also are so very thankful to everyone for your love, prayers, fasting and all the support you have given to the Rich family and extended family at this time.

Ayden is still being given antibiotics for pneumonia. We were just given encouraging news a few minutes ago from the RT that his lungs sounded really good. He continues to work hard at coughing all the "gunk" up, which is very important. They just put in a feeding tube for him that gives him Pediasure, which is a great step. They have weaned him off his sedation medication and are giving him medicine to help him stay comfortable on an as needed basis--another great step. His nurse, Tammy, just said that they are also weaning him off of his blood pressure medicine as well. They are still working towards the goal of extubation and all hopes are on this taking place tomorrow. We will update again soon. Thanks for your love, thoughts, and prayers. It gives so much strength to Chad and Caryn and family.
